Mortgage Originators To Meet In California
Countrywide chairman among speakers

Mortgage loan originators will gather in Universal City, California for the upcoming Mortgage Originators Conference and Expo. The event is organized by the Mortgage Bankers Association of America (MBA) and the California Mortgage Bankers Association. Housing finance giant Freddie Mac is a key sponsor for the event.
The conference takes place from Wednesday, May 29th until Friday, May 30th. It was previously scheduled in November as the "Joint Wholesale Lending Conference," but was canceled due to concerns resulting from the attacks on the
U.S. in September. According to Jerry Aust, the vice president of membership at MBA, 400 attendees are expected.
Another event attended by mortgage loan originators is the annual conference held by the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB). The 2002 event, "NAMB ROCKS," is being held June 15th - 18th in Cleveland, Ohio. Information about

Just north of Hollywood and Beverly Hills, Universal City -- where the conference is being held -- is home to Universal Studios Hollywood.
Among the speakers at the conference will be MBA chairman-elect John Courson, IndyMac Bank CEO Michael Perry and Countrywide Credit Industries Chairman Angelo Mozilo. The publisher of MortgageDaily.com, Sam Garcia, has said he plans to attend the event.
