Flagstar Bancorp, Inc. reported record mortgage loan production during November.

The Troy, Mich.,-based company originated $5.2 billion in residential mortgage loans, an almost 2% increase from the former record of $5.1 billion set in October.

November's total also represents a 36.8% jump over last year's $3.8 billion.

Year-to-date (YTD), Flagstar has closed $37.9 billion in loans, beating 2001's YTD of $29.2 with an almost 30% increase.

Flagstar was chartered in 1987 as First Security Savings Bank.

During late-morning trading, Flagstar was up $0.24 at $19.29, according to CBSMarketWatch.com.
