A prominent net branch operation announced Thursday that it trained a record number of people during April.

Allied Home Mortgage Capital Corp. reported it trained 28 new branches and 60 people last month -- "Allied's largest class yet."

The national broker operation, which late last year opened up its FHA, rural development and reverse mortgage training to originators and brokers outside the company, said it hosts a 4-day monthly training session at its Houston headquarters. The education includes information about "all aspects of opening a new branch," including compliance and quality control, human resources and network technology.

Allied said it recruits presidents of large corporations, independent mortgage brokers and employees from other net branch organizations.

"I think that the size of this last class proves that size really does matter," said Allied President Jim Hodge in the announcement. "Certainly having over 700 branches helps us to provide the services that most managers are looking for."
