A company claiming to be a national mortgage brokerage is recruiting anybody it can find. But little is known about the organization behind claims those hired will earn $1,000 a week with just 7 1/2 hours of work.
"A National Mortgage Marketing Organization (N.M.M.O.) licensed to do business with hundreds of national banks, private lenders, and investors," reads the opening of yesterday's announcement. If prospects can devote at least 90 minutes each weekday, they will reportedly be shown how they can earn $1000 per week in the residential and commercial lending business as a finder-apprentice using their spare time.
The company said no experience is necessary.
"Mortgage brokers and loan officers down at the bank are not happy about this development," according to the announcement.
While the announcement and a recorded message at the contact number listed indicate the company behind the program is WE FINANCE AMERICA, calls for further clarification were not returned.
The mortgage company is offering anybody the opportunity to get a piece of the income being generated in the multibillion-dollar mortgage lending industry through its apprenticeship program, the announcement said.
The company said it does 90% of all paperwork, and participants "will quote no rates and make no promises while an apprentice."
The broker noted there are no quotas involved. "Apprentices" work at there own pace without the need to leave their current job and do not have to quote rates or make promises, according to the announcement.
There are no signing costs, the announcement said, and apprentices who choose to go full time and make a career change will then be required to complete the course work required to become a state-licensed loan officer.
"If you desire to achieve true financial independence, then there is plenty of room in our winners circle for you."
