A mortgage insurer based in North Carolina has a new chief executive officer.
Effective Wednesday, Mark Tonnesen will succeed Darryl Thompson as president and CEO of Triad Guaranty Inc. and its subsidiary Triad Guaranty Insurance Corp., according to an announcement today.
"Mark is a gifted executive who is well qualified to take Triad to the next level," stated company Chairman William T. Ratliff III in a written statement. "He has the vision, experience and leadership skills needed to build on Triad's successes and its reputation as a premier credit enhancement company. The Board and I look forward to working with Mark to pursue profitable growth opportunities in a rapidly changing business environment."
The new head of the private mortgage insurer has over 20 years of senior management experience in the financial services and banking industry, according to the announcement, including eight years of serving executive roles at Royal Bank of Canada and prior experience at Banc One Corp. Tonnesen is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.
Thompson, who founded Triad 18 years ago and announced his intention to retire in April, voluntarily exits the company today, the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based insurer said.
